Sunday 24 May '09

A sunny 8 mile circuit from West Linton via Ferniehaugh and Garvald revealed curlew, lapwings, larks, a crow mobbing a buzzard and a stoat.

Friday 19 June '09

Some 40 members and their friends attended the annual BBQ at Hillend and 14 participants enjoyed a short walk prior to the event.

Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 August '09

In 2009 we were pleased to be able to contribute to the Midlothian Walking Festival. A strenuous circuit from Hillend to Castlelaw and retuning via Allermuir and Caerketton was held on the Saturday. The following day we organised a ‘Walking on Wheels’ event and the 21 participants included seven wheel chair users. The icing on the cake was a burger van at lunchtime.

Badger Watches

Badger Watches are always popular. This year we held 11 events which were attended by 24 adults, six children and lots of badgers!

Saturday 17 October '09

Ten walkers made the ten mile crossing from Crosswood on the A70 to West Linton via the Covenanter’s Grave. The strenuous walking through dense heather was offset by a truly glorious autumn day.
